• Therapy, at its core, is a collaboration between you and your therapist. You work together in 50-minute sessions to define problems and explore different approaches and solutions. Each therapist approaches therapy differently and it’s important to find someone you feel safe and comfortable with because a good therapeutic relationship has been proven to be one of the best predictors of positive therapy outcomes.

  • We often say that starting is the hardest part, so if you’re here you’ve already made great progress, congratulations! Your next step towards therapy with Forest Floor can be either a FREE 15-minute consultation call, or diving into your first full session. If you’d like to get to know your therapist before making any monetary commitment, you click here to book a Free 15-Minute Consultation which is an opportunity for you to meet your therapist, learn more about how they work, and give them an overview of what you’re looking to address. If you already feel confident that one of our therapists is the right fit for you, you can click here to book a full 50-minute session to dive right in!

  • We offer a free 15-minute consultation for you to meet your therapist and determine if they are a good fit for you. If you decide you would like to continue working with the therapist, sessions are charged at a rate of $140 plus HST or $100 plus HST for Post-Secondary Students

  • Consultations are 15 minutes long and ongoing sessions are 50 minutes long.

  • Not at this time, but we hope to add this service in the future.

  • The free consultation is an optional way to meet the therapist you’re thinking of working with, so you can ask questions and get to know them, to help figure out whether or not they feel like a good fit for you. While it’s not required you book one of these consultations, we do highly recommend it! We believe that a good rapport and personality fit is one of the best ways to ensure therapy will be effective.

  • This depends on your individual coverage, but often the answer is yes! Look into what your mental health coverage is, and if there are specifications on the type of practitioners covered. If “psychotherapist” is listed as an approved practitioner, sessions should be covered.

  • No. If you would like to use insurance to cover your sessions you will need to submit your receipts to your insurance company for reimbursement

  • We require cancellations/changes to be made at least 24 hours before the original appointment to avoid a late cancellation fee. If you need to cancel within 24 hours, it is considered a “late cancellation” and you will be charged a 50% session fee. If you do not attend your session and you do not provide any notice to your therapist prior to the session time, this is considered a “no show” which is charged 100% of the session fee.

  • We really appreciate it if you are able to let us know when this is the case. If you don’t have a chance, your therapist will stay available in the session for the first 30 minutes of the session. After this first 30 minutes, the session will be considered a “no show” as there is not enough time to conduct a comprehensive therapy session.
