Work, school, family, friends, trying to take care of yourself… LIFE can be a lot.

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed, stressed and like you’re always running to try and catch up.

Therapy, at its core, is a collaboration between you and your therapist. You work together in 50-minute sessions to define problems and explore different approaches and solutions.

You can think of therapy as a space to take a breath, and work towards feeling like YOU again.

  • When you do Individual Therapy with Forest Floor Psychotherapy, you and your therapist will start out by getting to know each other. They’ll tell you more about confidentiality, consent and therapy and you can ask your therapist any questions you have about how they work. Then they’ll ask you to tell them more about what brought you to therapy and your life in general. By the end of that first session, your therapist will help you identify a few goals to help guide therapy moving forward.

    In subsequent sessions, you’ll start with a check-in, then decide with your therapist what to focus on that day; whether it’s something that happened between sessions, one of the goals you’ve identified, or something completely different, your therapist will help you explore, understand and address the topic. Each session is flexible and personalized so you feel as safe, accepted, supported, and productively challenged as possible.
